Hugh McMillen Scholarship

The Boulder Concert Band is sponsoring a Young Conductor Competition in honor of Hugh McMillen, long time Director of Bands at the University of Colorado and organizer of our own Boulder concert Band in 1976. Hugh McMillen is listed mong the greatest and most influential musicians, conductors and educators not only in our state of Colorado, but in many National Band Organizations as well. The BCB has chosen to honor McMillen's great contributions to music with a scholarship for young individuals pursuing their careers in conducting or music education. The applicants must be 35 or under, and must be enrolled as music majors or in a conducting degree program in progress at a Colorado College or University.

Enrollment for Fall 2009 has started.
